SPEAKING AT RED HAT LUNCHEONS
POSSIBILITIES! is
what I speak about at Red Hat luncheons, and about reinventing
oneself, adventure, hope and following one's dreams, and
if you have something special you would like me to cover, I do
that as well.

How does one set up a
luncheon and talk?
A chapter finds a location for a luncheon-- a country
club, church hall, or any large venue which serves lunch. They invite
the chapters in their area. Usually 100 to125 women make reservations.
I arrive early so that I can visit with the ladies.
I do not own my books--the first three are published
by St. Martins Press, the rest by Pocket Books which is a part
of Simon and Schuster, so a local bookstore is asked to bring
the books and handle the sales. This makes it easy for anyone wishing
to buy them and have me sign them personally. I am available before
and after my talk.

Red
Hatters are not just about dressing in purple,
wearing a red hat, and having fun. We are about relationship and
companionship. It is quite wonderful to be able to travel anywhere
in the US, and many places abroad, and with a phone call or e-mail
make contact with a sister red hatter and be welcomed to that city
or town.
It had been my pleasure to talk to red hat chapters in NC, SC, Fl, TN
and GA and I have been a speaker at a red hat convention in NC and have
been invited to speak at conventions in Georgia and Iowa. When I talk
to audiences at library fund raisers, more and more I look out at my
red hat sisters in the audience.
Hats off to Sue Ellen Cooper for starting what has become a marvelous
sisterhood.
